We have designed our classroom to meet the needs of children with various developmental disabilities from PreK 4 through 1st grade age groups. We aim to provide high-quality, scientifically-based classroom instruction. Our classroom focuses on student assessment and continuous progress monitoring of our students’ individualized goals. We teach self-regulation strategies to ensure social, emotional and academic success.
We provide Sensory Circuit, a short and effective sensory motor skills program that helps to set children up for a school day and to help them self-regulate. This fun 10 to 15-minute session of activities is designed to improve brain processing efficiency.
The classroom is full of resources designed to have children learn through sensory exploration.
We provide children with many visual supports and we ensure that we use a clear and systematic approach to learning.
We provide a play-based learning environment. Children learn through playing. During the act of play children are exploring, taking risks, engaging their imagination, and solving problems. They are learning valuable skills that support social, physical and cognitive development.
