Dear Prospective Parents and Visitors,
Thank you for taking the opportunity to visit our website to learn more about Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic School. We appreciate you taking the time to examine what our school
has to offer and to consider it as a future academic home for your child. Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic School has a long history educating generations of Slidell area children
and shares in our parish’s mission to spiritually nourish, educate, and serve our
community. Our school celebrated its 90th Anniversary on September 13, 2019.
Our sprawling campus is situated on the southern end of the city of Slidell along the
northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Our main school campus, or East Campus,
serves students in grades Pre-K4 through 7th grade. Our East Campus facilities are
fairly new having been rebuilt following the destruction wrought by Hurricane
Katrina. These buildings were constructed with safety, security, and the latest technology
in mind. East Campus facilities include a new cafeteria with stage and a gymnasium.
Our West Campus is the site of our stand-alone Early Childhood Development Center
(ECDC) which opened in September 2018. The ECDC serves children 6 weeks old
through Pre-K3.
The school is staffed by dedicated and well-qualified teachers and support staff; several
of which are alumni who have returned to teach at the school where their education
began. Our students benefit from strong academic and enrichment curriculums,
integrated faith formation programs and well-rounded extracurricular activities designed
to teach the whole student - mind, body and soul. Our students generally do very well in
high school and many assume leadership roles in their respective high schools. Quite
often our students compete for the highest rankings in their grade, and almost every
year one of our graduates is honored as valedictorian or salutatorian of area high
schools. The school is accredited by Cognia (formally AdvancED).
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is a ministry of our church parish. As such, we
strive to be a faith-filled Catholic school upholding Roman Catholic teachings, traditions
and practices. We consider prayer and religious instruction as vital components of each
day. We provide our students with an educational environment that has Christ at its
center. We welcome all to be part of our school family and we invite you to take an hour
or so to visit our campus, meet our staff, and see if we are the right fit for your child.
Yours in Christ,
Roy H. Delaney, Sr., M.Ed.
