Principal’s Welcome

Dear Prospective Parents and Visitors,

Thank you for taking the opportunity to visit our website to find out more about Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. We appreciate that you are taking the time to examine what our school has to offer and to consider it as a future home for your child. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School has a long history educating generations of Slidell area children and shares in our parish’s mission to spiritually nourish, educate, and serve our community.

The school currently serves students in grades Pre-K3 through 7th Grades and is in the process of establishing a stand-alone Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) on what will be referred to as the East Campus. The ECDC that will serve children as young as 6 week old infants through 3 years old. Students in Pre-K4 through 7 will be served at the main campus. The school is staffed by dedicated and well-qualified teachers and support staff, many of whom have been with us ten years or more years. Several members of our faculty and staff send their own children to our school, and in fact, a few are alumni who have returned to teach at the school where their education began.

Our students benefit from a strong academic curriculum, integrated faith formation programs and well-rounded extracurricular activities designed to teach the whole student – mind, body and soul. Our students generally do very well in high school and many assume leadership roles in their respective high schools. Quite often our students compete for the highest rankings in their grade, and almost every year one of our graduates is honored as valedictorian or salutatorian of area high schools.

Our campus is situated on the southern end of the City of Slidell near the Eden Isles subdivision along the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Our facilities are fairly new having been rebuilt following the destruction from Hurricane Katrina. The newer buildings were constructed with safety, security, and the latest technology in mind. We have a brand-new cafeteria and gym with a seating capacity greater than our school enrollment.

We are a faith-filled Catholic school upholding Roman Catholic teachings, traditions and practices. We consider prayer and religious instruction as vital components of each day. We strive to provide our students with a educational environment that has Christ at its center.

We invite you to take an hour or so and visit our campus, meet our staff, and see if we are the right fit for your child.

Yours in Christ,

Roy Delaney,
