Something exciting happens every day in kindergarten! We incorporate the academics of reading-readiness, handwriting, math, science and social studies. Our kindergarten consists of self-contained classes, with one certified teacher and one assistant in each classroom. Most of our students are reading by Christmas, and our strong phonetic program benefits all. The children thrive on daily recess and limited relevant homework at night. In kindergarten at Our Lady of Lourdes, we combine the best of both academics and activities for a well-rounded, exciting day.

Enrichment Activites

One benefit of kindergarten at an academic-focused school is access to higher-level learning. All our students attend classes that other schools can only offer to middle school and high school students. At OLL, the kindergarten students enjoy an activity every day of the week:

  • P.E.
  • Art
  • Library
  • Music
  • Spanish

A Catholic Education is a life-long gift for your child. We have morning and evening prayer, grace before meals, daily Religion class, and frequent Mass. In kindergarten, Religion focuses on sharing, kindness to others, God’s family and ours, prayers, and the liturgical seasons, using the acclaimed “We Believe” by Sadlier. The class is enriched by the “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd,” a Montessori-based program. Throughout the school, our discipline system is founded on Christian Behavior, and this shapes the way our students respectfully interact with each other and their teachers.
